How did you meet Aaron? Church lock in. I can't remember whether Chad invited me or because I was 'dating' (middle school, is it really dating?) someone from the church. I mostly remember you telling me I had nice long fingers that would be great for guitar playing. Then we friended each other on MySpace and failed to set up a play date for like 3 years because I lived too far away.
I secretly think this is because you, as an Osseo-ite hated my Maple Grovian blood but I have no way to prove this. Fortunately, we eventually set aside our hatred, unlike the Montagues and Capulets, and became the Romeo & Juliet of a generation.
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? Aaron once ripped his pants in a room full of people and we all laughed at him.
How did you meet Aaron? I met Aaron when he was welcomed into this world in the hospital. My sister Krystal and I were so excited to have a little brother to pick on. Not that we picked on him or anything...right Aaron?
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? A funny memory I have of Aaron is from a while back when we had a family gathering at our parents house. We were hanging out as a family and all of a sudden Aaron started busting out the song ‘What do tigers dream of?’ on the piano. It was hilarious and we all started singing along.
How did you meet Aaron? I don't remember how we met! Aaron showed up at my school in 5th grade and it's all a blur from there. I particularly remember the rise of AOL instant messenger as being key to our friendship.
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? It's hard to pick one story, but in high school we were in the musical Willy Wonka and Aaron played Grandpa Joe, so I got to see him with powdered hair and fake wrinkles for a solid month. I am so excited to celebrate with him and Amanda this summer!
How did you meet Aaron? Aaron and I met in the first few days of college during Intro to Computer Science. I don't remember exactly how we entered the friend zone, but I'm assuming it either had something to do with dazzling me with some tech gadget he had in his dorm room, or finding out we both loved Ultimate Frisbee. Eventually we became roommates our Junior and Senior years, and also captained the Ultimate Frisbee team together.
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? Aaron and I were always looking to throw the disc around in our free time. Many times in the winter throwing down narrow dorm hallways in the middle of the night, or hitting trash cans in the basement of Manors. A lot of good nights tossing the disc around in weird places with good conversation ending abruptly with a dorm room door being hit.
How did you meet Aaron? Aaron just showed up one day in the cubicle next to mine. At first I assumed I was being replaced by someone with far superior facial hair, but I then realized that I was to teach Aaron the art of being an application support peon at a midsized life insurance company. I happily passed on as many responsibilities as allowed to Aaron and in the process became friends with him.
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? While working at said midsized life insurance company, Aaron and I acquired quite a few big foot hunting tips from a coworker. Essentially sasquatches lived wherever I was planning on going camping for the given weekend, so it was especially important that Aaron acquired all of my application support knowledge should I not return from a camping trip.
How did you meet Aaron? I met Aaron randomly at a Frisbee tournament. Although our friendship could only blossom with the help of a mid-size insurance company.
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? Aaron is the kind of guy that will still literally bring you a sandwich if you work late even if you beat up on him at Catan ;)
How did you meet Amanda? That is a great question! It seems our lives have been intertwined since kindergarten. Through recent discussion it has been realized we were in the same 4th grade class together – who knew! The Highview Gang, a group of 10 girls attending Highview M.S., nurtured the friendship that was destined to happen. The exact process is impossible to pinpoint, but birthday parties, cabin visits, dance recitals, and many many mutual friends kept us connected. And though we went to different high schools, winter colorguard eventually brought us closer together sophomore year, and the rest is history.
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? We shared many, many hours of conversation and dancing in Amanda’s Blue Honda CR-V after colorguard rehearsals and on weekends. Instead of getting into trouble, like typical high schoolers, we just hung out in a car for hours sitting in driveways and/or driving aimlessly around the suburbs. Sometimes we would even kidnap a friend or two to come hang out with us. Oh, and “Can you move youra nose please?! It’s kind of in my way.”
How did you meet Amanda? Met at the hospital when she was born. My sister!
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? Coming up with the phrase "Too bad!" when trying to get a family member to try on clothes.
How did you meet Amanda? Met in college freshman year either in a club or an education class.
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? I remember us dressing up in red and green (Amanda in a halo) for WEB Christmas party and trying to do the “peanuts” dance by shimmying our shoulders a lot and jumping around.
How did you meet Amanda? We met living on the same floor in Vollmer freshman year at Wartburg. My dorm room door was always open and Amanda would say hi and chat every time she walked by.
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? A lot of my memories involve jamming to music, usually Taylor Swift. We would take impromptu trips and loudly sing the entire ride there.
How did you meet Amanda? I have absolutely no clue. Amanda and I have tried to figure this out so many times and we can’t. We know we started hanging out freshman year, but no clue how we met!
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? Some of the best memories I have with Amanda revolves around Psalm. Amanda and I led a dance group together in college and figuring out choreography and teaching it was always interesting. We would take FOREVER to decide on a song, where normally Amanda would give up and I would choose. The next step would be figuring out the choreography. We would crowd ourselves in my tiny living room of Lohe or my bedroom of Knights and figure out what we wanted to do and try to remember it, which normally would involve us video taping ourselves. And then teaching it....wow...this was the most interesting part. Amanda was the feeler of the group and expressing how the move made her feel, while I made the counts of the dance make sense. We made an amazing team and I wouldn’t of wanted anyone else by my side while exploring more of me through learning about and expressing our love for God.
How did you meet Amanda? Amanda and I met our freshman year at Wartburg in an Education class.
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? I think my favorite memory would be when Amanda and I went to the Hope Overflow concert in the Lyceum. They played God’s Not Dead and it’s been our song every since and we Snapchat it every time it’s on.
How did you meet Amanda? I met Amanda when I was a freshman at Wartburg College and she was a senior, I joined Psalm 149 dance group which she was a leader of. We instantly clicked because she is so caring and loving and was there for me in dealing with homesickness. Wouldn't have survived college without her!
What is a fun/funny/memorable memory/anecdote we shared? Where to begin on memories...for one, Mands, Ashley D., and I were walking across campus and M
ands was telling me that she liked this boy and I instantly knew who it was and blurted out "Aaron!" She was so surprised that I had it figured out already! Another memory is all the times Amanda has remembered the small things and chooses to celebrate them with me. I'm truly blessed to have such a special friend in her and Aaron alike :)
